Our Commitment

Measures We Take

• Content pages are built with semantic HTML — real headings that step down in order, lists, landmarks, and a single main region per page — so screen readers can navigate the structure. Our "page not found" page is the exception; see Limitations below.
• Every page starts with a "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users, and all interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
• Keyboard focus is styled site-wide: elements focused by keyboard get a 2px solid outline in our primary green, offset from the element, rather than relying on the browser default being present. Form fields are the exception — see Limitations below.
• Every photograph and picture on the site carries alternative text: those that carry meaning have descriptive text, and decorative background images are marked as decorative so they are skipped rather than announced. Inline icons drawn in the page are a separate case — see Limitations below.
• Text and interface colors are chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios against our dark background, and form field borders are lightened specifically to clear the 3:1 requirement.
• Motion is optional: everything that animates respects the operating system "reduce motion" setting, and content that fades in is fully visible when JavaScript is unavailable.
• The layout reflows to narrow screens and supports browser zoom without loss of content.

Limitations

• Focus on contact form fields. The text inputs and the message box on our contact form switch off the site-wide focus outline. When one of them is focused its border turns green and it gains a soft blue glow, but that glow is faint and off-brand, and it is a weaker indicator than the outline every other control gets. We intend to replace it with the standard outline.
• The embedded Google map. Our service area map is a Google Maps embed. Its interface and its behaviour with assistive technology are controlled by Google, not by us. We publish our full business address in text directly beneath the map so the information is available without using the embed at all.
• Links to third-party profiles. Links out to our Google Business Profile lead to pages we do not control and cannot correct.
• Decorative dividers and card edges. Some purely decorative borders sit below a 3:1 contrast ratio against their background. They carry no information and nothing depends on seeing them, but they may be faint on some screens.
• Photography. Alt text on project photographs describes what the picture shows, but fine detail about workmanship may not be fully conveyed in text.
• Heading order on our "page not found" page. On /404 the main heading is followed directly by the footer's column headings with no intervening level, so the heading outline reads 1, 3, 3, 3, 3 instead of stepping down one level at a time. Every other page steps down in order.
• Decorative icons. The site draws 504 inline icons across its pages, and 239 of them are not yet marked as hidden from assistive technology, so a screen reader may announce them as unlabelled graphics. All of them are decorative — each one sits beside text that already carries the same meaning — and we are working through them.
